    Minnesota ends St. Louis’ perfect start, as Bernardeschi scores against Olimpico for Toronto

    St. Louis City Franchise Expansion A great start to their first MLS season was completed by Minnesota United, who won 1-0 after a 78th-minute penalty from Luis Amarilla on Saturday.

    City made MLS history by winning their first five games, but that was ended by the Loons with Amarilla taking a penalty after needlessly challenging Kyle Hiebert.

    Hiebert brought down Amarilla right in the box with an ill-advised tackle when Jakob Nerwinski appeared to be in control of a wayward pass from Kervin Arriaga.

    Substitute Samuel Adeniran came closest to equalizing for St. Louis with a 95-minute shot over the bar after Klaus’ great first touch from the right flank.

    St. Louis remains top of the table with 15 points in six games, but undefeated Minnesota climbs to fourth in the Western Conference.

    Cincinnati continued their impressive start to the season with a 1–0 home win over Inter Miami, who suffered their fourth consecutive defeat.

    Yerson Mosquera scored the winning goal in the 45th minute for Sinsi, who is the leader of the Eastern Conference.

    Giorgos Giakumakis scored the early game-winner as Atlanta United climbed to second in the East with a 1-0 home win over the New York Red Bulls, who fell behind in 12th place in that conference.

    Jordan Morris and Leo Chu scored first-half goals as the Seattle Sounders remained second in the West with a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy who didn’t win and only had three points in five games.

    LAFC remained undefeated and third in the West despite a 0-0 draw in the winless Colorado Rapids, while SJ Earthquakes moved up to fifth with a 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo, with all three goals coming from penalties.

    The Vancouver Whitecaps went on a three-draw streak in a landslide 5-0 win over a 10-man Montreal, with Simon Becher scoring a brace. Becher is the fastest player (87 minutes) in MLS history to score his first four goals.

    Frank Boly saved the Portland Timbers in a 1-1 draw in Dallas, the Chicago Fire and DC United drew 0-0, and Nashville won 2-0 in Orlando City.

    Federico Bernardeschi scored another spectacular goal with a direct kick from a corner in a 2-2 home draw with Charlotte.

    Sporting K.C. went winless after a 0-0 draw at the Philadelphia Union, New England drew 1-1 with New York City, and Real Salt Lake suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing ” Columbus Crew with a score of 4:0.
