FC Barcelona have received an offer to play in the Qatari League with a big financial return as Barça need the profits to fund the Camp Nou renovation project.
Joan Laporta, President of Barça, was in Qatar last week to finalize a sponsorship deal with Qatari company Baladi, where he met with company president Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah.
Laporta is looking to secure sponsorship deals and deals that will help the team through its economic crisis, which the club has signed since the days of President Josep Bartomeu.
Does Barcelona participate in the Qatar Championship?
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club received an offer from Catalonia to create a club called Barça, which would participate in the Qatari league, in exchange for a percentage of the profits from this deal.
