Barcelona players want Patrick Kluivert to replace Quique Setien?

Barcelona’s first-team squad would apparently remain in favour of academy director Patrick Kluivert taking the place of head coach Quique Setien.

Barcelona‘s first-team squad would apparently invite the visit of Patrick Kluivert as the club’s new head coach.

With the Catalan giants having gave up the La Liga title to Real Madrid, Quique Setien is expected to be gotten rid of from his position in the dugout in the coming weeks.

While club legend Xavi has been linked with a future return to Camp Nou, reports in Spain recommend that another former player is among the frontrunners to replace Setien.

Although Kluivert’s supervisory experience in club football is restricted to youth sides at FC Twente and Ajax, the famous Dutchman has invested the last 12 month as academy director at Barcelona.

The report recommends that the 44- year-old’s understanding of life on and off the pitch at Barcelona might show critical when a possible visit is made prior to the resumption of the Champions League.

Barcelona are also in a position where they are most likely to present more potential customers into the first-team image, another aspect which might play in Kluivert’s favour.
