A high-profile match like Belgium-Italy could have all the hype of a final, but only one European giant will advance to the semi-finals at Euro 2020.
After a strong performance in a 1-0 victory over reigning European champions Portugal, Belgium, number 1 in the FIFA world rankings, appears to be the tournament favorite after the elimination of France. Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard provided the winner for Belgium, but manager Roberto Martínez will have to make some tough decisions.
Belgium will be sweating over the fitness of midfielders Kevin De Bruyne (ankle) and Eden Hazard (hamstring), each of whom have left Portugal victory through injury. Martínez said the duo is “50-50” to be available to face Italy, but confirmed that they will not be fully fit.

Meanwhile, Italy is awaiting the status of two key defenders after Giorgio Chiellini and Alessandro Florenzi returned to training from their respective injuries. Italy beat Austria with a 2-1 overtime win in the round of 16 thanks to late goals from Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina.
The Red Devils reach the quarter-finals in Monaco with a streak of 13 consecutive victories. The Azzurri enter the field on Friday after setting the Italian record of 31 consecutive victories. One of these impressive races will end, with the winner meeting Spain or Switzerland in London for the semifinals.
