Mbappe reaches out to Dembele following PSG move

Paris Saint-Germain star and France international Kylian Mbappé was keen to welcome his compatriot Ousmane Dembele after his official move to the Paris side from Barcelona.

Earlier today, on Saturday, the French international winger signed a five-year contract with Barcelona’s Paris Saint-Germain worth 50 million euros.

Hours after announcing his joining the Paris team, Mbappé posted via the Story feature on his Instagram account a photo of Dembele wearing a Paris Club jersey and commented: “Welcome to your home my brother, good to see you here. Now the future begins.”

Mbappé’s message comes at a time when the player is facing an unknown fate in the Paris team.

A few weeks ago, Mbappe announced that he did not intend to activate the contract extension clause with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2025.

This means that Mbappe will end his contract in June 2024 and leave on a free transfer at the end of next season.

This angered Paris Saint-Germain’s Qatari president, Nasser Al Khulaifi, who stated: “The best player in the world cannot be allowed to leave for free.”

After that, the administration of Saint-Germain decided to put pressure on Mbappe, first excluding him from the team’s Asian tour in Japan and South Korea in preparation for the new season.

A few days ago, Mbappe’s jersey was removed from the Paris Saint-Germain store in yet another ‘desperate’ attempt to get the player to renew his contract or leave this summer so the club could benefit from selling it in a deal that could reach €250m. .

Mbappé was also excluded from Saint-Germain’s match against Lorient, scheduled for Saturday night in the first round of the French league.
