Meanwhile, banker Ingrid Lana told Brazilian broadcaster RecordTV that during an incident at Anthony’s home in Manchester in October 2022, he “pushed me against the wall and I hit my head.”

Anthony issued a statement on Instagram on Monday calling Cavallina’s claims “false” and speaking on Brazilian network SBT on Friday, the striker said: “I have never and will never (assault a woman).”

He added: “I am 100 per cent sure I never touched a woman. And I will come with proof. People will see the truth.”

His club released a statement on Wednesday about Cavallin’s claims, saying: “Manchester United acknowledge the allegations made against Anthony and note that police are investigating.

“Pending further information, the club will not comment further. As a club, we take this matter seriously, taking into account the impact that these allegations and subsequent reports will have on victims of abuse.”

United, who have not said whether Anthony remains available for selection, were unable to comment when contacted by the PA news agency about the subsequent allegations against him.

In an interview with Brazilian website UOL, which also published photos and screenshots of messages between the pair, Cavallin said Anthony attacked her with a “headbutt” in a Manchester hotel room on January 15, causing her head to be severed and requiring treatment. from the doctor.

Cavalline also alleged that Anthony punched her in the chest, which she claimed caused damage to her silicone breast implant, requiring corrective surgery back in Brazil.

Another alleged incident is said to have occurred at the house on May 8, with Cavalline saying she cut her finger trying to defend herself and accusing Anthony of throwing a glass cup at her and then taking her passport.

Cavallin reportedly filed a report with Sao Paulo civil police regarding allegations of physical and verbal abuse by Anthony during a holiday in Brazil in June 2022 while she was pregnant, and also made a separate complaint with Greater Manchester Police.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Anthony, who joined United from Ajax in an £85.5m deal in September 2022, wrote: “I have taken this matter seriously and respectfully from the outset, providing the necessary clarifications police.

“However, I can calmly state that the allegations are false and that the evidence already presented and other evidence that will be presented demonstrates my innocence of the charges brought forward.

“My relationship with Gabriela was turbulent, with verbal abuse on both sides, but I never committed any physical aggression.

“I therefore categorically reject the allegations made and inform you that I remain at the full disposal of the Brazilian authorities to clarify everything necessary.

“I trust that the ongoing police investigation will prove the truth of my innocence.”
