Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso was discharged from a German hospital following an episode of intestinal obstruction.
The central defender has recovered successfully and is able to return to Spain on Monday.
Hermoso was hospitalized on Saturday after suffering acute abdominal pain ahead of Atletico’s friendly against Wolfsburg.
But after medical examinations, the Spanish international has been discharged and hopes to be involved on Wednesday against Cadiz for Diego Simeone’s side.
Hermoso, who arrived from Espanyol in July 2019, made 48 league appearances with Atleti.
The 26-year-old played 31 times in La Liga last season when the club was crowned champion, the first top-flight title since 2014.
Atletico will launch the away defense at Celta Vigo on 15 August.
