Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has identified the collaboration in between Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as the ‘best in world football’ and has been impressed with their influence on the team up until now this season.
Defoe has also applauded manager Jose Mourinho, who has directed his Spurs side to the top of the Premier League table with the best defensive record in the league after last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
“With Kane and Son, what Mourinho has done has been incredible,” the 38-year-old informed the Mennie Talks Podcast.
” Those 2 are the best collaboration in world football at the minute. The hardest thing that you can do at the leading level is to be constant, so for those 2 to show that consistency, for me boggles the mind.
“Credit to Mourinho because there were a lot of people before he took the job that were thinking ” no”, but I believe that you should always appreciate greatness because he is a great manager. He is unbelievable.”
Kane has signed up 13 goals and 11 assists in 16 matches in all competitions this campaign, while only Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored more than Son’s 9 strikes in the Premier League.
