The newspaper indicated that Saint-Germain sent a message to Barcelona that he would pay a penalty clause in Dembele’s contract, valued at 50 million euros, leaving the Parisian club five days to settle the deal.

Dembele joined Barcelona in 2017 from Borussia Dortmund for €105m before bonuses, with one more year left on his contract with the Spanish champions.
