Arsenal submit opening Mudryk bid

Things started moving in the Premier League ahead of the January transfer window. After Liverpool and PSV Eindhoven reached an agreement over the proposed transfer of Cody Gakpo, Arsenal have sent their first offer for the services of Mykhaylo Mudryk to Shakhtar Donetsk, according to multiple sources. The offer should be set at a total of 60 million euros, of which 40 million of the guaranteed part and another 20 million of add-ons.

However, the Ukrainian club wants much more. Sporting director Darijo Srna recently compared Mudryk’s market value to that of Manchester United’s Antony and Jadon Sancho, or Manchester City’s Jack Grealish. None of them cost less than 100 million euros.

Arsenal would still be ready to play the long game, aware of having to shell out more than 60 million euros, and this was just an offer to test the waters before jumping into the depths.

Mudryk, 21, is under contract with Shakhtar until 2026.
