Zaniolo prefers AC Milan to Bournemouth

Nicolò Zaniolo has decided to leave Roma, head coach José Mourinho openly confirmed a few days ago, although the Portuguese tactician also said there were no suitable offers for an attacking midfielder at the time. However, Fabrizio Romano now reveals that Bournemouth are in talks with Roma over a proposed €30m deal, with the player himself favoring Milan as his destination.

The seven-time European champions are interested, but so far they have only offered a loan deal with a purchase clause included, having already agreed personal terms with Zaniolo’s camp.

The 23-year-old is usually placed in the center, behind the striker, but he is known to perform well in a wide attacking role. At youth level, he played for Genoa, Fiorentina and Entella before joining Inter Milan under 19 and breaking through to the senior side with the Nerazzurri. Roma paid around €4.5m for him in 2018 and since then he has made a total of 128 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists.
