    Zamalek Revives Champions League Qualifying Hopes with Win Over Esperance

    Zamalek retained their chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the African Champions League after defeating their guest Esperance de Tunis 3-1 on Tuesday in the fourth round of the group stage.

    The first goal of the match was scored in favor of Zamalek through the player Saif Farouk Jaafar, in the eighth minute after a cross pass from Ahmed Sayed Zizou from the edge of the penalty area, Saif Jaafar met him with a powerful shot into Esperance’s net.

    Zamalek converted a penalty in the 29th minute, which was successfully converted by Ahmed Syed Zizou.

    Riyad bin Ayad scored to close the lead to Esperance in the 57th minute, but Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri restored the two-goal lead with a third to Zamalek in the 90+1 minute.

    Zamalek raised his result to 4 points, finishing third on a par with Sudanese Mars, while Taraji’s balance stopped at 9 points and remained at the top of the third group, three points clear of Algerian youth Belouizdad, who is in second place.
