The Egyptian press reported on the state of health of Zamalek player Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, as well as the fact that the player retired at the end of the current season.

Chikabala was absent from Zamalek’s list to meet host side Algerian youth club Belouizdad who will bring them together tomorrow, Friday, in the fifth round of the African Champions League. There are many questions about the end of his football career.

And press reports indicated that the player caught a bad cold in the last period, after the match with the Tunisian Esperance, including in the third round of the group stage of the continental championship.

And more than one local newspaper has reported, citing a source close to the player, that: “During the last period, Shikabala has not spoken to any media about any issues related to his career at the Zamalek club in the coming period.” .

And she added: “Some of the information that came out and said about the player that this season is his last in the stadiums is incorrect. Shikabala didn’t talk about it at all, and we don’t know the reason behind the rumors that came out in the current period.”

He concluded: “The player’s condition is currently very good, he is undergoing a medical examination under the supervision of the medical staff of the Zamalek club.

The source indicated that Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala’s health has improved significantly over the last period, stressing that he has two days ahead and is in the training hall to return again to officially participate in the team’s group training.

Shikabala, 37, captain of Zamalek, has made 18 appearances with his team this season, scoring three goals in addition to two assists.

Chikabala’s last appearance with Zamalek was in a match they lost to Tunisian side Esperance with two unanswered goals on 25 February at the Rades Stadium.
