According to multiple sources, Ajax turned down West Ham’s second offer for Mohammed Kudus.
The offer appeared to be €42m, more than the offer the Dutch side initially accepted from Brighton before the attacking midfielder pulled out of a move earlier this summer. Obviously, Ajax have significantly increased their assessment of the player, and now the Hammers will consider whether to continue negotiations or temporarily abandon interest.
While there have been speculations that West Ham have begun targeting Kudus in light of Lucas Paqueta’s possible move to Manchester City, which is now canceled amid allegations of betting on the Brazilian, relevant sources claim the two deals are unrelated. .
The fact that the Hammers made a second offer after the allegations against Paqueta came to light and City refused to negotiate seems to support this claim, but it must be said that Paqueta is facing a long-term ban from football, and If that happens, West Ham’s need for a player like Kudus will obviously increase.
Realize, West Ham have filed a new official bid for Mohammed Kudus in the last 24 hours – a €42 million package ⚒️🇬🇭
Ajax immediately rejected the offer. No intention to accept on these terms.
