´Vlahovic should have done more at Juventus´ – says former Fiorentina team-mate Valero

According to former Fiorentina team-mate Borja Valero, Dusan Vlahovic “should have done more” at Juventus.

The Serbian striker joined the Bianconeri in January for €70m, having scored 41 goals in 64 games for La Viola since the start of the 2020/21 season.

But the 22-year-old found it difficult to continue afterwards, despite finishing second in Serie A last season with 24 goals, a tally bested only by Lazio’s Ciro Immobile (27).

Vlahović has only scored 16 goals in 36 games for Juve due to a groin injury that hampered his progress this season and also limited his World Cup participation in Qatar for Serbia.

Valero played alongside Vlahovic at Fiorentina in the 2020/21 season and the ex-midfielder is frustrated by his former teammate’s spell in Turin.

“The Bianconeri fans had very high hopes for Vlahovic, especially for everything he did in Florence,” he told DAZN.

“Considering the amount Juventus paid for him, it’s safe to say that I expected more from him. He should have done more.”
