The Moroccan Football Federation has announced that proceeds from the friendly match between the Atlas Lions and Burkina Faso on Tuesday night will be donated to a special fund to combat the effects of the earthquake.
The official account of the Moroccan Football Federation on the X platform today, Tuesday, published a statement saying: “As part of a campaign of solidarity with the victims of the earthquake that affected some regions of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation announces that it has distributed the proceeds from the friendly match , which will be assembled on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, between the national team and their counterpart, the Burkina Faso team, most of whom were from Morocco. communities living abroad have been allocated to a special fund to receive voluntary solidarity contributions to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake.

Atlas Lions team members previously donated blood to victims of the earthquake, which killed more than 2,000 people and injured several more.
Morocco’s match with Liberia, which took place last Saturday as part of the African Cup of Nations qualifying tournament, was also postponed to a later date due to the earthquake.
