Market: Union Berlin win
Chances: 12/11 @ 888sport
Hoping to secure back-to-back wins in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon, Union Berlin will welcome Stuttgart to the capital.
Starting with the hosts, while Union Berlin may have been heartbroken on March 16 as they watched their European adventure come to an end, Urs Fischer’s team continued another home run this season. The Ironmen were last seen before the international break with a spectacular performance on home soil when they scored a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in Frankfurt. The Irons are firmly set on securing a famous Champions League berth in 2023. Although Fisher’s men may have admitted that a legitimate title charge was ruled out, the Union only continued to shine on home soil. In fact, thanks to what quickly became overwhelming, Saturday’s hosts have not suffered a single defeat in front of their fans since September 8th. Die Eisernen, hoping to mark their return after their international hiatus with yet another announcement, is rightfully considered a standout choice here.
On the away side, while Stuttgart may have clung to their Bundesliga status last season, this time Die Roten is living a real top-flight nightmare. Marking their comeback after the international break, finishing bottom of the table and given relegation chances, Alexandre Werle’s side have picked up just one point in any of their last four Bundesliga matches. He was last seen before the March break with a toothless 1-0 defeat at home to Wolfsburg. It should also be noted that Stuttgart have only won once in the top flight since the start of 2023. To become a decisive 2-1 defeat to fellow relegation Schalke, Werle’s side will face a major test this weekend. Having suffered a 1-0 defeat when they welcomed Union to the Mercedes-Benz Arena on October 9th, we expect the same result here.
