    Unexpected Turn of Events in Barcelona Following Pablo Xavi’s Injury

    Barcelona received a pleasant surprise after Spanish star Pablo Javi suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury before the league resumed after the end of the current international break.

    During the final match of the European Championship qualifying group, Xavi was seriously injured while playing for the Spanish national team against Georgia, and the player was forced to leave the match after 26 minutes.

    The Catalan club said in an official statement that Xavi, a first-team player, suffered a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, as well as a lateral meniscus injury.

    Barça explained that the player will undergo surgery in the coming days, and after that he is expected to provide new medical information.

    Dutch star Frenkie de Jong, the Catalan club’s midfielder, returned to regular participation in Barça training today after recovering from injury.

    According to the Mundo Deportivo newspaper, in light of the mourning over Xavi’s long absence, the Blaugrana may have a reason to rejoice – the return of Frenkie de Jong.

    She noted that Barca returned to training on Monday afternoon after a three-day rest granted by Javi Hernandez, the team’s technical director, ahead of the league’s resumption after the international break.

    The Catalan club confirms on its platforms that Frenkie de Jong is training with the rest of the squad, along with Barcelona Athletic’s Cuellar and Alarcón, as well as youth players Albert Navarro, Neil Caldero and Brian Farinas, who have completed their training.

    The newspaper confirmed that Xavi is fully convinced that De Jong will return for Rayo Vallecano’s next league match, especially after Xavi’s injury.

    De Jong suffered a right ankle injury during the team’s match against Celta Vigo on 23 September.
