Today, Friday, press sources expressed doubts about the participation of Dutchman Frenkie de Jong with his Barcelona team in El Clasico in Spain with historical rivals Real Madrid.
De Jong has been left out of his country’s national squad to face France and Gibraltar in the first and second rounds of the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Barcelona will host Real Madrid on 5 April in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, with the first leg played at the Real Madrid Stadium and ending with Barcelona’s victory with an unanswered goal.

The Catalan club have revealed the details of the injury of their Dutch player Frenkie de Jong via the club’s website, as he feels some muscle discomfort after the Clasico game against Real Madrid.
And the club released a statement saying: “A medical examination revealed that Frenkie de Jong had a biceps injury in his right thigh.”
He continued in a statement: “The length of his absence depends on the pace of his recovery from injury.”
In the same context, the Spanish newspaper AS reported that De Jong’s absence from the stadiums will reach 15 days, which means doubts about his participation in the El Clasico Cup against Real Madrid.
