talking with Sky Sport, Youri Tielemans of Leicester City has revealed that he is open to exploring any options that arise in the near future.
The Belgian international was tied to Liverpool for a while during the summer transfer window, and later the interests were credited to Real Madrid as well. According to Fabrizio Romano, ‘many clubs’ are interested in signing him at the end of this season, when his contract with Foxes enters the last year.
The situation would presumably change if the 24-year-old midfielder were to sign a new contract between now and then, but there is currently no such offer on his table.
Tielemans has so far played a total of 113 games for Brendan Rodgers’ side since joining AS Monaco in 2019, scoring 18 goals and providing 19 assists. His arguably most notable contribution was the superb winner he scored in the FA Cup final against Chelsea last season.
“There is really no update. I am open to everything. The market just closed, but I want to keep as many options as I can open, “he said.
“As long as I am here I will give everything for the club. I have already done this, but I will do it even more. The contractual situation is just something that is happening in football, it is a normal situation.
“There are discussions going on – I’m not saying I’m going to sign, I’m not saying I’m not going to sign. We’ll see.”
