Manchester United are in talks with representatives of Bruno Fernandes for a new contract, second Fabrizio Romano.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team started the Premier League season on a high note, finishing at the top of the table with 10 points after four rounds alongside Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton. With four goals already under his belt, Fernandes has had an important part in it.
There is a general feeling in the club that they are finally heading in the right direction, and many see them as one of the main title contenders following the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. Fernandes obviously feels the same way and wants to stay at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future, which is what United also wants. There should be no problems in the talks, even if they have been ongoing since July.
There is no reason to hurry, with the contract currently tying the Portuguese attacking midfielder to the club still has nearly four years to run, but United have made signing a new deal one of their top priorities, alongside Paul Pogba.
