According to a recent report by RTBF, Vincent Kompany is one of the favorites to become the new Belgium coach.
Alongside the likes of Philippe Clement and Thierry Henry, it appears the former Manchester City defender and current Burnley manager is potentially lined up for his home nation’s international job. He comes on the heels of Roberto Martinez’s resignation due to the Red Devils’ poor performance at the World Cup in Qatar.
As well as being a former Belgium international himself, Kompany seems to be working wonders with Burnley as they prepare for a real promotion push.
If they’re serious about making it back in time for Euro 2024, they need a fresh change of direction and bringing in someone like Kompany – who knows what it’s like to fail at this level – could be exactly what they need to revive what’s left. of this aging team.
