Transfers News: Chelsea put Bellingham at the top of their shopping list

Chelsea have put Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham high on their wish list for next summer, according to the Evening Standard.

Todd Boehly, who heads the consortium that now owns Chelsea, is believed to be a big fan of the 19-year-old midfielder, and the American businessman intends to stay involved in the club’s relocation activities by making several appointments in the hiring department. However, Bellingham’s signing won’t be easy. A player of his quality and his age would always be the subject of a match involving a number of top clubs across Europe, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid preparing to swoop in.

Bellingham has so far made 16 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, scoring six goals and assisting his team-mates twice. Barring an injury in the coming weeks, it is certain that he will be part of the English team for the next World Cup in Qatar, probably as a starter in Gareth Southgate’s team.
