Transfers News: Ajax take Steven Berghuis from Feyenoord

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Ajax reached an agreement with Feyenoord for the transfer of Steven Berghuis this summer. The amount that Feyenoord will receive is set at 4 million euros and, once the winger has passed the medical examinations, he will sign a four-year contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena and will be officially announced as an Ajax player.

The 29-year-old has had many club changes throughout his career so far. He went through the youth teams of WSV Apeldoorn and Go Ahead Eagles, before reaching the first team with FC Twente in 2011. From there, he had a midseason loan period with VVV-Venlo, and joined the AZ Alkmaar with a permanent contract in 2012. Three years later he joined Watford, where he only played one season before being loaned to Feyenoord.

The deal was made permanent in the summer of 2017 and has gone on to rack up a total of 199 appearances for his current club, scoring 87 goals and creating 64 more.
