Crowland Town footballer Michael Palmer has died at the age of 23 after falling to the ground during a County League match in England.
The player suddenly collapsed on the pitch during a match with his club against Leverington last Saturday, he was taken to the hospital, but he did not regain consciousness, according to the British newspaper The Sun.
Crowland Town tweeted: “As some of you already know, Crowland Town tragically lost a member of our family while playing our favorite game. Our player Michael Palmer tragically passed out during the match and never regained consciousness.
The club paid tribute to the Manchester United fanatic, saying: “He was the kindest man and an enthusiastic Manchester United fan, always striving to achieve the best that he could and we will miss him greatly at the club and locally. football community.
The club concluded by saying: “We would like to thank the Leverington players and staff for their help and respect. At this sad time, our thoughts are with Michael’s family and friends. Once again, we thank Leverington for all they have done and express our deepest respect to everyone who was there.”

Notably, Michael Palmer died about 24 hours before Manchester United won the League Cup after beating Newcastle United, so he did not witness his favorite club celebrate his first title after a long starvation from tournaments lasting about 6 years.
