The Syrian national team defeated their Chinese counterpart (1:0) in a friendly football match that brought them together today, Tuesday, in preparation for the joint qualification of the World Cup and the Qatar 2023 Asian Championship.
Syrian midfielder Thayer Krumah scored the only winning goal for his country in the 59th minute of the match, which took place at the Phoenix Stadium in Chengdu.

This is Syria’s seventh victory over China in the history of the two teams’ confrontations, compared with nine defeats and two draws.
The Syrian national team drew with their counterparts Malaysia (2-2) in a friendly match that brought them together last Wednesday, when he was also in China.
Notably, the Qatar Football Association announced that the country will host the 2023 Asian Cup finals between January 12 and February 10, 2024.
