Ramon Diaz confirmed that the loss to Al-Fateh was due to the many injuries that hit the team, especially after the absence of leader Salman Al-Faraj from the match, in addition to participating in the Club World Cup and the AFC Champions League.

“We didn’t play a good match against Al Fateh, especially in the first half where we didn’t have a chance,” Diaz said at a post-match press conference.

He added: “We lost more than one player against Al-Fateh due to injury. We lost the efforts of leader Salman Al-Faraj and our team didn’t complete their ranks in most matches.”

And he continued: “After the World Cup and participation in Asia, we missed important players like Marega and Vito. It affected us, but we will work to correct the mistakes made.”

He added: “The decline in our performance in the last two matches is worrying, especially after we showed an excellent level in the World Cup and in the AFC Champions League.”

He concluded: “I don’t think it’s the players’ loss of title ambition due to the achievements of the past years. The injuries that have followed the players are a major factor in reducing our level by a few matches.”
