The Cottagers are apparently sorting out the situation regarding the future of Aleksandar Mitrovic, their longtime star frontman, who is keen to leave the club in light of a chance to join Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. They are said to have already turned down offers for his services, and Mitrovic is clearly unhappy with their stance, believing his price is being squeezed out of the market.

    Newcastle sign Barnes

Newcastle have completed and officially confirmed the signing of Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.

The final cost for the 25-year-old winger is estimated at around £39m, close enough to what the Magpies reportedly originally offered Leicester.

Barnes is a product of Leicester’s academy and was on loan to MK Dons, Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion before getting a proper shot at first team football at King Power Stadium. In all competitions, he made a total of 187 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 37 goals and 31 assists, as well as winning the FA Cup with the Community Shield in 2021.

Everton sign Arnaut Danjumu on loan

Everton have confirmed that he managed to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal. The winger joined the Merseyside Blues on loan for the 2023/24 season.

Everton came close to signing the 26-year-old in January, but Tottenham Hotspur stepped in at the last minute and stole the deal. Danjuma has played a total of 169 minutes in nine Premier League games for Spurs, but has managed to score only once, without assists.

As Everton tweeted, this transfer should be a new start for Danjuma, another chance to make his mark in the English top flight and possibly help the team avoid another desperate relegation fight.

Romelu Lukaku clearly has no place in the ranks of Mauricio Pochettino, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and David Datro Fofana are no longer at Stamford Bridge, although the latter only joined Union Berlin on a one-season loan. Armando Broja is still there and reportedly looking to make an impact, but it remains to be seen how much Pochettino is willing to trust the young Albanian as the club desperately needs a better season than 2022/23.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are also looking to build on last season’s success by earning a place in the European Conference League qualification and with two years left on Watkins’ contract, they won’t be too willing to sell their main source of goals.
