AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli confesses that he aspires for midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to stay at San Siro past completion of the season.
AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has firmly insisted that he remains positive of keeping the services of Hakan Calhanoglu.
The 26-year-old has played a key part in Milan’s unbeaten start to Serie A, contributing one goal and 6 assists from his 14 appearances.
Nevertheless, the Turkey international has just 6 months staying on his contract, an aspect which has led to Manchester United being highly linked with his signature.
In Spite Of Calhanoglu being able to hold talks with foreign clubs in January, Pioli has talked up the opportunities of keeping the playmaker at San Siro.
Speaking to DAZN, Pioli stated: “Calha is great, he is smart, he can move well, he understands how to attack and he understands how to link thegame He compromises himself.
” I desire him at this level, he is a leadingplayer I do not think there are issues. Calha is with us and with theclub I make sure that his will is to stay, there is a settlement.
“The club, technical area, the player and I want the same thing, he has reached important levels and can still grow. He’s a player to bet on.”
Sitting a point clear of competitors Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A standings, I Rossoneri are not likely to capitalize Calhanoglu in January.
