Erik ten Hag doesn’t worry about contract negotiations with key Manchester United players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, and instead focuses on playing on the pitch.
United have a slew of players whose contracts ended at the end of the season, though some have options in their existing contracts for next season.
Ronaldo is one of them, along with David de Gea and Marcus Rashford, but Diogo Dalot, who has started all nine Premier League matches at right-back this season, could be gone.
These situations will need to be dealt with, but Ten Hag will gladly put them on hold for now.
“At the moment, we’re only thinking about the performance,” the manager said. “We have a lot of games ahead of us, so I don’t want this to interfere with the negotiations.
“We should focus on football and performances, not negotiations.”

De Gea’s future, like Ronaldo’s, has been regularly the subject of speculation, but he remains United’s first choice.
Neither Martin Dubravka nor Tom Heaton have posed a real threat to De Gea this season, although Dean Henderson is only on loan.
Ten Hag added: “We didn’t make a decision on him, but I can say that I’m really happy with David de Gea.
“His first two performances of the season were not the best, but after he brought us a lot in defense, he gives stability and as a person I like him.
“But first we’ll go into the winter and then we’ll talk about how to deal with situations.”
