Soccer News: Real Madrid boss Ancelotti calms down on speculation about Mbappe: it’s a matter for the club

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said the potential signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe was “a matter for the club”.

According to widespread reports, Real Madrid has offered 170 million euros plus 10 million euros in add-ons to take the 22-year-old to the Bernabeu.

Mbappe still has a one-year contract with PSG, for which he scored 133 times in 174 games, at the rate of one goal every 102.46 minutes.

But Ancelotti insisted he wasn’t the right person to talk about a potential deal when asked before Madrid’s La Liga clash with Real Betis.

“It’s a matter for the club, I understand it’s of interest, but I can’t say more,” he said. “If I say that Mbappe is a great player, I am telling the truth. I try to get the best quality in my team.

“My team is fantastic, I’m focused on that. He can compete against anyone in the world.

I’m happy with the team, but if it improves, it’s better for everyone. “

While Mbappé may arrive, Real’s latest large-money purchase – Eden Hazard – has been linked to a move.

A seemingly constant battle with injuries has prevented the Belgian striker from really playing for Madrid since his move from Chelsea in 2019.

After Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Juventus, with an agreement on returning to Manchester United, Hazard has been linked with a move to the Bianconeri.

However, Hazard started each of the first two Los Blancos games of the new La Liga season and Ancelotti stressed the 30-year-old’s importance.

“Hazard is a very important player, everyone knows that,” added Ancelotti. “He played the first two games coming back from injury, he’s doing well.

He has good motivation and is a very, very important player for us.
