Soccer News: Philadelphia Union 0-2 Club America (0-4 tot): the Mexican giants reach the final of the CONCACAF Champions League

Club America reached the CONCACAF Champions League final after knocking out Philadelphia Union 2-0 on Wednesday.

The giants of Liga MX America scored an overall triumph in the semifinal 4-0 thanks to goals in the second half from Nicolas Benedetti and Henry Martin.

America, a seven-time champion, will face Cruz Azul or Monterrey in an all-Mexican final on 28 October.

The MLS Union squad had to overturn two goals in Philadelphia midweek and the home team came close to scoring five minutes into the second half.

The Union got a penalty saved by Mexican international Guillermo Ochoa, who denied Jamiro Monteiro after Kacper Przybylko was fouled by Bruno Valdez.

Philadelphia – looking to end the MLS Champions League title drought, which dates back to the LA Galaxy’s success in 2000, dominated the second half.

However, Benedetti nearly resolved the game in the 79th minute before Martin took home the second of the American night in injury time.
