Soccer News: Pele’s hospitalization is just a ‘monthly visit’, says Brazilian legend

Pele tried to convince people that his recent hospitalization was just a “monthly visit”.

Considered one of the greatest players of all time, the three-time World Cup winner is recuperating at home in Brazil.

Last year, Pele underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his colon, and since then he has been in the hospital every now and then.

His daughter, Keli Nascimento, said on Wednesday there was “nothing surprising or emergency” about her father’s hospitalization after he was hospitalized earlier this week.

The 82-year-old has received a message of support from the Brazil men’s team playing in Qatar at the World Cup.

Pelé took to Instagram to show his gratitude for the support, sharing a photo of a building in Qatar with a picture of himself and the words “get well soon” lit up.

“Friends, I am in the hospital for a monthly visit,” he wrote. “It’s always nice to receive such positive messages. Thanks to Qatar for this tribute and to everyone who sends me good vibes.”
