Ibrahima Konate relishes the opportunity to see Kylian Mbappé and Kyle Walker battle up close and personal as France play England in the World Cup quarter-finals.
Les Bleus entered the last eight after beating Poland and Didier Deschamps’ side are now ready to take on Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions, one of the few undefeated teams left in Qatar 2022.
Striker Mbappe, who sits at the top of the Golden Boot standings with five goals to his credit, has been the best player of the tournament so far.
But he will face perhaps the toughest test in England, right-back Walker, and Konate is looking forward to seeing the pair.
“Walker and Mbappe are two very good players. “Walker is one of the best right-backs in the world and I can’t wait to see this fight.
“[But] it’s Complicated [to defend against Mbappe]. Kaylian is impressive. Every year it develops and becomes even better.
“I don’t know where he will stop. We’re lucky to have him on our team and not against us.”
