Tyson Fury is considering becoming the new owner of Morecambe to pump “millions” into the League One club.
The WBC World Heavyweight Champion already has the “Gypsy King” logo embroidered on the Shrimp shorts.
After it was announced that Fury would take on Derek Chisora on December 3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a trilogy, the undefeated 34-year-old revealed he was considering a takeover of the club in the seaside town where he lives.
He told talkSPORT on Thursday: “Quick question, I’m thinking about buying Morecambe Football Club, which is currently in League One.
“So I thought I would invest X million in them.”
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan responded: “By ‘invest’ you mean challenge them, ‘invest’ is the wrong term.”
Fury said, “Yeah, basically, throw it at them and make them grow. I was offered to buy the Morecambe Football Club.
“In any case, I own all the training facilities and the training hall. So who knows? Perhaps you are looking at the owner of a football club.”
Jordan asked Fury, “Do you know how to get rich playing football?”
The world champion replied: “Start big! It’s the same as being a boxing promoter.”
