Antonio Conte admitted that Tottenham should play better in important games after they lost 2-0 to Manchester United.
Goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes doomed Conte’s team to their second Premier League defeat of the season, having also been defeated 3-1 by leaders Arsenal earlier this month.
Spurs have had an impressive start to the campaign in every other respect and are still third in the table, equal on points with second-placed Manchester City and three clear of fourth-placed Chelsea, albeit playing a game. more than both.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, however, Conte pointed to a difference in purchasing power between his club and United, who have forked out more than anyone in England in the latest transfer window to bring in the likes of Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Anthony.
Spurs also spent money on Yves Bissum, Jed Spence and Richarlison, among others, but the Brazilian was unable to play at Old Trafford due to injury.
14 – Manchester United made 14 shots from outside the box in the first half against Spurs (out of 19 shots); this is a record for the Red Devils in the first half of a Premier League match (since 2003–2004). Speculative.

“I think United are a really good team,” Conte said. “You know very well the potential of this club, what they have done in the transfer market and how much money they can spend. You are probably talking about two different levels.
“At the same time, I think we can do better in this type of game.
“We are fighting. We fought Chelsea, we fought Arsenal, today we fought United.
The Spurs missed 28 shots from the hosts, including 19 in the first half, while only nine of their own were converted in the entire game, while only two hit the target.
United deserved to win, they put on a really good game,” Conte admitted.
“As far as our side is concerned, in this type of game where the level has to be high, we need to improve a lot. We must try to be better than today.”
