Moresche was influential as the Central Coast Mariners took the 2-0 lead against struggling Sydney FC on Sunday and protected that lead to get back to winning ways.
The Mariners had lost their previous two A-League games – last time they lost more in succession in a measly 11-game span in 2020 – but Moresche made sure that short stint ended.
The Brazilian did not score in person, but in the 13th minute he gave the advantage to Marco Urena.
No player in the league has scored more shots on goal this season than Urena’s nine, with her last straight pass from Andrew Redmayne on a measured pass from Moresche.
Three minutes later it was two o’clock. Lewis Miller’s fine work on the right was followed by a low cross that sought Moresche, only for Anthony Caceres who turned into his own net under pressure in front of the goal line.

Winless Sydney failed to bounce back and extended their worst start to the season since 2010-11, when they had to wait 11 games for their first win.
