Sheikh Mansour, Manchester City owner, arrives in Istanbul to witness the Champions League final.

Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour will take part in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

Club sources have confirmed to PA news agency that the Sheikh will be in Istanbul when City face Inter Milan for the first time for Europe’s top club trophy.

It will be only the second game he has attended since his investment company Abu Dhabi United Group acquired City in 2008.

Chairman Khaldun Al Mubarak was also scheduled to attend an exhibition match at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

Under Mansour, City have become a dominant force in the English game, with the club winning seven Premier League titles in the last 12 years and five of the last six.

A victory in Turkey on Saturday also means they will become the second English team to win a treble, having already retained their national title and won the FA Cup.

City are also now at the center of a global network of 13 clubs known as the City Football Group.
