Serie-A News: Juventus defender Bremer will have to fight for Brazil’s World Cup squad.

Juventus have confirmed that defender Bremer has suffered a hamstring injury that will see him sideline for almost three weeks.

Bremer, who joined Juventus from Torino ahead of this season, has started in all 10 of the Bianconeri’s Serie A games this season.

The 25-year-old made his debut for Brazil in September, playing 44 minutes as a substitute in a 3-0 friendly against Ghana.

However, now he has to race in order to have time to get into Tite’s team for the World Championship.

On Monday, Juventus confirmed that Bremer, who was knocked out in the 52nd minute of Saturday’s victory over his former club Torino, had suffered “a minor hamstring injury in his left thigh”.

Bremer is out of action for about 20 days, which means he will miss games against Empoli, Benfica, Lecce, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter in a busy period of matches.

He could play for Juventus against Verona and Lazio ahead of the World Cup break starting on November 20.

In Brazil’s first game four days later, they will play Serbia. While Bremer’s place at Tite was by no means guaranteed, Seleção will hope that Tottenham striker Richarlison, who has been a key player in recent seasons, recovers from a calf injury in time to reach Qatar.
