Pierluigi Gollini is enthusiastic about his “great opportunity” with Tottenham in view of the official presentation scheduled for Friday.
The 26-year-old Atalanta goalkeeper flew out on Thursday to sign on loan with Tottenham – with a purchase option of € 15m (£ 12.8m) – where he will replace Hugo Lloris.
Gollini has been Atalanta’s favorite shooter in the last three seasons, which have scored three consecutive third places for the small Bergamo club.
The Italian has already spent time in England with Manchester United and Aston Villa, but was delighted with the opportunity Spurs offered him.
“I am very happy. Clearly, it was difficult to leave a place that was like a second home and a family,” said Gollini.
I thank Bergamo, because here I felt loved and what we did will remain in the history of the club, but this is a new experience.
“I am very happy and grateful to Tottenham for this great opportunity. Hugo Lloris is a World Cup winner, so it is prestigious and an honor for me to play with him. “
Gollini added that Tottenham was the “best offer” he received and that he would have a hard time staying in Serie A for any club other than Atalanta.
