Atalanta is preparing an offer for Tammy Abraham, according to Fabrizio Romano. However, their move for the Chelsea striker hinges on Inter selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea and the Nerazzurri coming for Duvan Zapata to replace the Belgian international.
Arsenal would also be interested in Abraham, but it remains to be seen if the Gunners persist in the race against Atalanta who are willing to pay 40 million euros for the 23-year-old’s services. Furthermore, Chelsea would be happier to sell the player overseas than to a Premier League rival.
As things stand, it looks like Lukaku’s return to Stamford Bridge may actually take place this month. Inter have already turned down an offer of 100 million euros from the Champions League holders, but Chelsea continue to insist and another offer, worth over 110 million, is expected shortly. Lukaku is believed to be willing to make the switch and accept personal conditions which should see him earn around € 12m per season. Chelsea are very keen to do it as soon as possible, having given up on the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland which would cost a lot more this summer.
Chelsea are ready to sell Tammy Abraham abroad if an agreement is reached with Atalanta. Meeting in the next few days to open talks. ???? #CFC
Atalanta are ready to offer 40 million euros for Tammy … but only if Inter ask for Duván Zapata as a potential replacement for Lukaku.
