Barça’s average outfield contract expires on June 30, 2023 as talks between the two parties ended with the Spanish player’s contracts not being extended longer, coinciding with the captain’s desire for new experience.
Barcelona’s official website wrote: “After a 15-year career with the first team, captain and legend Sergio Busquets is leaving the club. Thanks for everything, Sergio.”
It is worth noting that the Blaugrana captain grew up in the Barcelona academy and was promoted to the first team in the 2008 season, and then received an armband after the departure of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021.
The average Catalan club has made 719 appearances in the Barcelona jersey in various competitions, scoring 18 goals, scoring 45 others and managing to win 31 titles.
