Sergi Roberto suffers injury, confirmed by Barcelona

Barcelona have confirmed Sergi Roberto has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

The versatile 31-year-old was replaced by Eric Garcia just 15 minutes after La Liga’s goalless draw with Getafe after injuring his left leg.

Sergi Roberto underwent a scan on Monday and Barça revealed that he had injured his biceps femoris.

The loss of a staunch club leader is a blow ahead of the leaders’ clash with third-placed Atlético Madrid on Sunday.

However, there was good news for the Catalan giants: Ousmane Dembele, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong were able to take part in the training.

Xavi lamented the state of the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum pitch after his team failed to score for the third consecutive game in a stalemate at Getafe.

Blaugrana are 11 points ahead of rivals Real Madrid with nine games to go.
