Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri has called for his resignation over the decision to cancel Juventus’ 15-point deduction from Serie A.
The Bianconeri were fined in January following a capital gains investigation in which the club was found guilty of alleged violations related to historic transfers.
However, Juventus’ appeal to cancel the deduction was successful, and on Thursday the Collegio di Garanzia announced that the fine had been annulled.
The Italian Football Federation (FICG) can still punish Juve again after a reassessment of the case, but for the moment they finished third in Serie A.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men have a chance to pass Lazio for second place if they beat leaders Napoli on Sunday, but Sarri is unhappy with how the situation has played out.
“From a legal point of view, I don’t have the knowledge to give an opinion,” he said after Lazio’s 1-0 home loss to Torino on Saturday.
“But from a sporting point of view, the championship is distorted. There was a rating for several months, but now it is different and may change.
“I hope someone in sports justice has the taste to retire.”

Sarri’s mood was not helped by what he felt was the officials’ poor performance in the loss to Torino, and a first-half goal by Ivan Ilic proved the difference.
“The refereeing had an impact,” he said. “(Elseid) Hysay had to convert a penalty, and Torino scored a throw-in a few meters from the field. It affected the game.
“I wonder how seven people didn’t see it. The guys were good – with these judges there was a risk of being reduced to nine or ten people.
