Russia’s Daniil Medvedev became the Doha tennis champion by beating Britain’s Andy Murray 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday, a week after his coronation in Rotterdam.
Medvedev, who is ranked eighth in the world, has confirmed that he is back on top of his previous level after several disappointing months as he was excluded from the Australian Open earlier this year, the first of four major tournaments.

For his part, Murray, who reached the final of the yellow ball tournament in Stuttgart for the first time since June 2022, struggled with the opponent, but he lacked decisiveness in decisive moments.
Despite the loss, Murray, the former world No. 1, shone in Doha, defeating Germany’s Alexander Zverev, world No. 16, en route to the final.
