Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, a professional with Saudi Al-Nasr, won the West Asia Player of the Year award for August after a fierce competition with Jordanian Al-Wehda player Anas Al-Awadat.
Ronaldo received 43 percent of the vote, compared to 41 percent for Jordanian Anas Al-Awadat, who was the Portuguese star’s first challenger in that referendum.
And the Asian Football Confederation opened the doors a week ago for fans to vote to choose the best player in the West Asian region, with the deadline set to expire on Wednesday night.
The idea behind the monthly referendum is to open up the possibility for fans to vote to choose the best player in the West Asia region for the month based on many criteria, the most important of which are: the role of the player influences the results of his team by scoring and scoring goals, and also organizing the team in terms of competition, as well as the importance of the matches he has played and his role with his country in international matches, if any.
