Real Madrid coach Italian Carlo Ancelotti believes Manchester City have outperformed his side in everything they faced in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final and deserved to reach the final.
Manchester City stripped Real Madrid of the Champions League title by beating them 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-finals after the two teams had drawn 1-1.
On the reasons behind the defeat, Ancelotti told BN Sports after the match: “It’s simple. Manchester City were better than us from start to finish.”
He added: Manchester City took advantage in the first half and we tried in the second but it was impossible. They were better than us and deserved to win.”
He continued, “Now is not the right time to talk about what has been said in the past. It’s very sad to lose and we have to look at next season in the Champions League.”
Asked about the record he has achieved as the manager with the most appearances in the Champions League, the Italian manager commented: “I am not very happy with that. Sometimes we win but we also lose, and I try to learn from the loss.”
Manchester City will play in the final scheduled at the Atatürk Stadium in Istanbul on 10 June against Italy’s Inter, who achieved this role at the expense of their neighbors in the same city, AC Milan, by beating them back and forth with a score of 2 :0 and 1. -0.
