Real Madrid Contemplates Vlahovic and Richarlison as Potential Offensive Enhancements

Real Madrid are considering Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison as potential attacking transfer targets for the upcoming summer window, according to ESPN.

Many media outlets have long reported that Real Madrid are working to identify candidates for the role of a fallback and long-term successor to Karim Benzema. The French international won the Ballon d’Or last year and is still playing at the highest level, but time doesn’t stand still for anyone. Benzema is currently 35 years old and his contract expires at the end of the season. He will likely be offered a one-year extension to keep playing for the club until his potential replacement is fully settled in.

Signing a contract with Richarlison shouldn’t be too difficult this summer. The Brazil international is currently Harry Kane’s understudy at Spurs and if the England captain stays put he still won’t get the game time he craves and could look forward to moving on. The North London club probably won’t stand in his way either, given that he’s only scored two goals in 29 appearances in all competitions this season.

Vlahovich, of course, is another matter. A Juventus regular, the Serbian international is also in his first full season at the club, but despite being two years younger than Richarlison, he has scored 11 goals in 35 games so far. The Bianconeri are unlikely to accept anything less than nine figures to turn him down with three years left on his contract.
