Spanish newspapers have confirmed that Real Madrid’s candidates have missed out on The Best, which will take place tonight in the French capital.
Real Madrid nominees won’t go to The Best party
Unlike what happened at last October’s Ballon d’Or, which crowned Karim Benzema, Real Madrid’s nominees will not be present at the Best of the Year awards tonight in Paris.
Where, on behalf of all candidates, only the Spaniard Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations of the Royal Club, will be present.
The real reason for the absence of royal candidates for the ceremony
According to the white team, the reason is the huge calendar and the importance of rest for the players, but the Marka newspaper said that there is another reason, since no Bezet candidate will win today.
The best player award will go to Leo Messi instead of Karim Benzema, and similarly the best goalkeeper will go to Emiliano Martinez and not Thibaut Courtois.
