Manchester United have been working for some time to get Marcus Rashford to sign a new contract as soon as possible, but negotiations between the club and the player have reportedly stalled at the moment. According to Sky Sports, the 25-year-old striker is more than happy to wait for the club’s ongoing ownership saga to be resolved before resuming his future.
The club obviously won’t be thrilled about this given that Rashford’s current contract expires this summer and that his electric form this season continues to attract a lot of interest. The England international has scored 27 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions for United this season.
Apparently, United are planning to introduce a salary cap to ensure that no player earns more than £300,000 a week and they offered Rashford the highest figure in the category, but he’s waiting to see if other prospective new owners put up another offer.
Rashford has been linked in the past with clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
